Rub Testing for Beverage Industry

The Danilee SUTHERLAND® 2000 Rub Tester has a wide range of applications. We recently detailed the importance of rub testing for medical labeling and medical applications in our latest blog post.

Another application of the Rub Tester is in the beverage industry, specifically in bottle labeling and bottle caps. The SUTHERLAND® 2000 Rub Tester has always been a reliable tool for many industries with flat surfaces, however with the addition of the Bottle/Can Adapter and Bottle Cap Adapter we have now added more and more ways businesses can ensure quality in their products in various types of print direct to Bottles, Cans or most any type of shape.

Wine Bottle Labels, Direct Printed to Bottle Rub Testing & Wine Cork Rub Testing

One industry we have worked with is wine and liquor bottle labeling. Many of these companies require a range of specifications when it comes to the quality of their label from the paper durability and weight, to the ink fastness. Our SUTHERLAND® 2000 rub tester along with the Bottle/Can Adapter has the ability to test round surfaces such as wine and liquor bottles giving you the ability to ensure quality print direct to bottles every time.

In addition to bottles and labels, many corks also have foil around their caps and corks that can be tested for quality with our rub tester. Testing of the pigment color, printing color and emboss stabilization. This can be achieved by using our Bottle Cap Adapter along with the Rub Tester. We would utilize your part print and a sample to custom produce your Bottle Cap Adapter to perform this testing method
